This is another of those serendipitous encaustic paintings. I was just playing around, smearing and smacking and dragging and wiggling the wax-laden iron all over the paper… and this is what came about.
I see an atypical farmhouse beyond the ridge; it looks vaguely Japanese in style. In the foreground, there’s a just-picked radish or turnip or something. What does it mean that everything has taken on a green tint? Is there a tornado heading towards that little farmhouse? Should the veggie picker be concerned?
Shouldn’t you be telling me you want to buy this for your favorite coworker for Christmas?
I definitely see the Japanese-like farmhouse and the radish. But I think the setting must be Venus.
On a quick glance I can see the turnip thingy but if you blow it up you can see (or I can!) a copse with trees that are damp in the mid winter with dead wood or a dead tree fallen across a ravine type area. Neat!

Ok, I must be blind. I don’t see any of that stuff. I guess I could blame it on eating meat.
Have a happy vegan Thanksgiving.
