Back when I lived in Colorado, autumn colors were still mostly green because of all the coniferous trees out there. But there was also the annual turning of the aspens… where they’d go from a delicious green to the most amazing golden color.
But the reds and oranges weren’t as prevalent. Oh sure, we had our maples and elms and oaks scattered here and there. Living back a sea level, I see every possible shade of red, orange and yellow out here in the Adirondacks… making a drive up north look like you’re traveling through a surreal forest fire. I have to agree with Mr. Aerten that it’s absolutely gorgeous… but I’d give it all up for some nice warm, dry weather!
gorgeous colors – the leaves will be turning in the mtns here any day now – this reminds me so much of them
