And if you think I mean winter, you don’t know me. Yet.
No, it’s that time of year when I start planning out which art or craft shows I’ll be doing this year. I’ve definitely decided to repeat the great ones from the past two years… Art on Lark in Albany, the Stockade Villagers’ Art Show in Schenectady and stART on the Street in Worcester. I may do Art in the Park in Saratoga again, but that would mean taking days off work, since those are held on Tuesdays when the track is dark. Of course, it’s not like I don’t have vacation time! And I just got an email this week from the people who run stART on the Street that they will also be doing a stART in the Park. It sounds like a lot of fun, so I may sign up to do that one, too.
I only did one craft show last year, Niska-Day in Niskayuna, and I really don’t think I’m going to do it this year. Yes, I had a great time. Yes, I made money. But I froze my tiny bits off! (Um, that would be fingers and toes, people.) You’d think it would be warm in May. Not so much, at least in Upstate New York.
But I may go down to East Durham again this year. The Irish Village is a wonderful place. I love the atmosphere. The problem with that venue is that the traffic isn’t all that great and I didn’t make much money. I know the folks down there are trying hard to make it more of an attraction, and I’d like to support them. I’m sure the fact that I’m Irish may have something to do with it!
I’ll be sure to post my schedule when I have it all sorted out, so stay tuned!
